Our technology presents a paradigm shift in the way glass will be used in building construction, automobiles, agriculture and specialty products. Glass will no longer be just a component of construction but also a renewable energy resource.Victor Rosenberg, Executive Chairman, ClearVue Technologies
Cutting edge, Perth-based company ClearVue Technologies has developed an advanced glazing system that will transform the world to one where consumers will be part of the energy solution.
The ClearVue product is completely clear glass panes which use an activated interlayer, sandwiched within a panel composed of a number of glass panes, some of which are coated by specialised thin-films. The nano and micro particles dispersed into an interlayer absorbs solar radiation and redirects it to solar photovoltaic cells at the edge.
“Our technology presents a paradigm shift in the way glass will be used in building construction, automobiles, agriculture and specialty products. Glass will no longer be just a component of construction but also a renewable energy resource.”
- Victor Rosenberg, Executive Chairman, ClearVue Technologies.
Imagine windows that help produce energy to power your residential home, whether a house or whole apartment building. ClearVue has the potential to have a meaningful impact on energy bills. Also, businesses and commercial buildings can have the added benefit given the amazing insulation properties of ClearVue glass and of course the delivery of significant cost savings through a reduction in the heating and cooling costs associated with a building. This product could also be used to provide energy at the source of public spaces such as bus stops, train stations and community areas for powering lighting, security cameras, active advertising panels and device charging points etc.
ClearVue is working on a prototype greenhouse that provides superior insulation properties but also the ability to generate its own energy to power watering systems and lighting. The company is also confident that their technology can be incorporated into the glass of cars (such as panoramic sunroofs) to provide additional power and reduce the carbon footprint of vehicles.
ClearVue say their technology is cost effective, plus being environmentally friendly and providing a sustainable and innovative new power generation capacity – combined with factors such as having the potential to add efficiency to homes, businesses, automobiles, public transport, and agriculture is very exciting and inspiring to say the least!
